Geri Alimi Hospital was founded in 1994 by a team of visionary Nigerian physicians committed to bringing quality specialist medical care to Ilorin and wider Kwara State. Named after the Geri Alimi district where it is located, the hospital began as a 50-bed facility on Ahmadu Bello Road, Ilorin.
Over three decades we have grown into one of the most trusted tertiary hospitals in Kwara State and the Middle Belt β with 200 beds, 16 specialist departments, and over 250 dedicated healthcare professionals. Our patients travel from across Kwara, Kogi, Ekiti, Osun and beyond for our specialist services.
We are fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria (RC 456789), licensed by the Kwara State Ministry of Health, and accredited by the Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria. We are an approved National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) provider and maintain active HMO partnership agreements with all major insurers operating in Kwara State and the Middle Belt.
The hospital is governed by a Board of Directors and managed day-to-day by an Executive Management Team led by the Chief Medical Director. Clinical governance is maintained through departmental Clinical Directors who report to the Deputy CMD (Clinical Services).
All clinical staff hold valid practising licences from the Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), or other relevant professional councils. We maintain a mandatory Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme and sponsor selected staff for overseas specialist training each year.
To provide accessible, compassionate, high-quality medical care to every patient β with integrity, dignity, and clinical excellence at the heart of all we do.
To be the leading hospital in Kwara State and the Middle Belt β delivering world-class healthcare that is trusted by our community and recognised nationally for outstanding clinical outcomes.
Integrity Β· Compassion Β· Excellence Β· Accountability Β· Respect. These five values guide every clinical and administrative decision we make at Geri Alimi Hospital.
